No segundo artigo: "Zincum metallicum 5c reduce cardiac tissue damage by modifying the immune response in mice infected by Trypanosoma cruzi", o balanço na produção de citocinas associado a menor inflamação e parasitismo tecidual no coração e maior sobrevida dos animais tratados reforça o benefício do tratamento. Além disso, reflete a possibilidadedo encontro de um medicamento que estimule o controle de doenças infecciosas, o que pode constituir em esperança para o tratamento de indivíduos infectados; ABSTRACT: Evaluating the activity of homeopathic medicines in different experimental models, treatment regimens and dynamizations can contribute to describe the physical and biological characteristics of homeopathic medicines and create a robust scientific basis for their clinical indications. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Zincum metallicum 5cH on experimental Trypanosoma cruzi mouse infection. In blinded, randomized controlled trials, eight-week-old male Swiss mice were infected and treated with Zincum metallicum 5cH and evaluated for survival and estimated survival time, parasitological, immunological and histological parameters. In the first article: "The use of Zincum metallicum in a murine model of infection by Trypanosoma cruzi", a beneficial modification of the immune system was observed, with alteration of the parasitological course that promoted longer estimated survival time of the treated mice, suggesting benefit. In the second article: "Zincum metallicum 5c reduce cardiac tissue damage by modifying the immune response in mice infected by Trypanosoma cruzi", the balance in cytokine production associated with lower inflammation and tissue parasitism in the heart and longer survival of treated animals reinforces the benefit of treatment. The findings in this study reflect the possibility of understanding the effects and mechanisms of action of ultra diluted drugs, and the finding of a drug that stimulates the control of infectious diseases, may offer hope for the treatment of these patients

Abstract: Suicidal behavior has been considered a serious public health problem with complex causes and has been growing proportions all over the world with great social impact. In this context, the great participation of psychoactive drugs is prominent among the drugs used by women in suicidal attempts. Approaching this problem in a multidimensional way constitutes important tool for preventing and applying effective and specific actions for this population. Considering that the concept of vulnerability may contribute to this discussion, the present study focuses on the analysis of vulnerability contexts in the life of women who tried suicide using psychoactive drugs. This descriptive and exploratory study tries to delineate a series of cases using the analytical reference of vulnerability and home visit as data to be studied. Twenty women have been effectively investigated, ages over eighteen years old, whose cases were registered in the Intoxication Control Centre in the State University Hospital in Maringá (CCI/HUM) during the year 2010. The Notification Form, the Patient Form and a semi structured interview script were used for data source. The quantity data were inserted in the software Excel 2003 and analyzed in their relative and absolute frequency. Most women were white (15-75%), between 20 and 39 years old (11-55%) and married (12-60%). There was an average of educational years of 11.2. Depression was the most usual mental disorder (17-85%).The drugs used for suicide attempts were mostly the own women's drugs (18-90%) and stored in big quantity at their homes. Concerning family environment, thirteen women (65%) informed at least one type of mental disorder and six (30%) revealed suicide attempt history of at least one member in the family. In the case of ten women (50%), conflicts were constant with drug abuse in seven (35%) of the cases. Thirteen women had already been victims of violence, usually committed by their partners. The results lead us to the conclusion that women have low vulnerability to suicide attempts, but the stressing events inside their homes bring them high vulnerability to suicide attempt. The results in this study also suggest the professionals to act based on the fact that the patients are inserted in a social and familiar context, besides the biological factors. Giving strength and power for these women and their actions in these contexts could be efficient strategy for facing this problem.

The present study aimed at analyzing the individual, social and programmatic vulnerability of families living in a territory with high circulation of drugs of abuse. A cross-sectional, quantitative and descriptive study using a population-based household survey conducted in a peripheral neighborhood of the city of Maringá-PR, with four census tracts implanted in different periods and different socioeconomic requirements for real estate financing. A structured data collection instrument was used, consisting of questions for socio-demographic characterization of families and questions for the recognition of analytical plans of vulnerability, according to the individual, social and programmatic dimensions, applied from probabilistic random sampling in domiciles. The data were analyzed in the software of statistical analysis R, being submitted to the descriptive analyzes (means, standard deviation) and the Chi-square test. A total of 358 residents were interviewed, most were women (262 – 73.2%), average age group 52.2 years, self-referral to white race/color (209 – 58.4%), and married (205 – 57.3%). The average number of years studied was 7.1 and the retired (92 – 25.7%) and housewife (23.2%) were the most cited. Most families were classified as nuclear (196 – 54.7%), or ample (121 – 33.8%), and were constituted by an average of 3.6 persons per household, and 104 (29.3%) reported unemployed member. The pointing of drug perception was relevant – 349 (97.5%) affirmations, and 313 (89.6%) reported perceiving large circulation and drug use. Regarding drug use in the family, 110 (30.9%) answered affirmatively, especially alcoholic drink (69 – 62.7%), and other illicit drugs – 41 (37.7%). There was a significant association between drug use and census tracts III and IV (p = 0.035) and higher frequency of drug use among users of census tracts III and IV (p = 0.048); and among the presence of drug users and a single-parent and ample family structure (p = 0.058). There was a significant relationship between income and drug use (p = 0.000) and interference of drug use in family life (p = 0.044), and between the presence of drugs in the family and the perception of public services in the area (p = 0.047), indicating lack of locoregional public policies. It was concluded, however, that families with drug users had conditions that increased vulnerability in the individual, social and programmatic dimensions and, despite criticisms directed at the establishment of causal relations between poverty and drug use, the coexistence with drugs in the studied neighborhood was indicated by the residents

Abstract: To argue the risks to the health and the environment and the exposition of the population the highly toxic products, mainly the illegal passengers as the hexaclorociclohexano - BHC is necessary to evaluate aspects that surpass the question of the safe behavior, style of life and education in health. Considering that the vulnerability concept can contribute for this understanding, the present study it has as objective to argue the vulnerability of families of agricultural agriculturists who coexist BHC stored in its properties. One is about a exploratório descriptive study, using the theoretical referencial of the vulnerability, the method of situacional diagnosis fast e visits to domiciliate as resources for the empirical study. Effectively 27 families had been investigated, residents in pertaining cities to the Regional Nucleus of Agriculture of Maringá - PR. You argue the risks you the health and the environment and the exposition of the population the highly toxic products, mainly the illegal passengers the hexaclorociclohexano - BHC is necessary you evaluate aspects that surpass the question of the disembarasses behavior, style of life and education in health. Considering that the vulnerability concept can contribute will be this understanding, the present study it has objective you argue the vulnerability of families of agricultural agriculturists who coexist BHC stored in its properties. One is about the exploratório descriptive study, using the theoretical referencial of the vulnerability, the method of situacional diagnosis fast and visits you domiciliate resources will be the empirical study. Effectively 27 families had been investigated, residents in pertaining cities you the Regional Nucleus of Agriculture of Maringá - PR. The majority of the families informed to have knowledge on the prohibition of the BHC, but few had known to justify the reasons for this prohibition. The main place of storage of the BHC is tulhas or abandoned houses, with amounts between one and 1000 kg conditioned, mainly, in bags of paper or not complete plastics and tambores of polyethylene. Two families had still related to use the BHC "to kill insects". The individual vulnerability this related with the presence of masculine heads of family with low escolaridade, some with age above of 60 years, greater number of members gifts in the constitution of these families, families inhabiting in the property more than has ten years, and use of the BHC "to kill insects". The social vulnerability presents as component facilitadores the familiar low income, the television as source of information, and difficulty presented for the family in taking possetion itself of decisions that can change its reality. The programmatical vulnerability is increasing due to absence of information and resolutive actions of the agencies of Agriculture for the solution of the present BHC in the country properties. To argue the vulnerability of the families of agricultural agriculturists who have in its properties the BHC stored is not a simple task, being essential the faithful comprometimento to the causes of the populations most vulnerable, in order to materialize the objectives of attention and care to the health ambient human being and promised to all population.
