Política de imigração e colonização no Brasil Imperial : um estudo sobre a Colônia Thereza Christina-PR (1847-1875)

Abstract

Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar os aspectos políticos, culturais e econômicos da Colônia Thereza Christina-PR entre os anos de 1847-1875. Para isto, tomamos como estudo as políticas de colonização adotadas no governo Imperial e Provincial. Para dar sustentação ao nosso objeto, utilizamos como fonte os relatórios dos diretores da Colônia, dos Presidentes da Província do Paraná, dos documentos encontrados na Câmara Municipal de Guarapuava e também do viajante Thomas Plantagenet Bigg-Wither, que esteve na Colônia entre os anos de 1873 a 1875. Além disso, buscamos pesquisar jornais da época que falassem da Colônia. Em sua maior parte, a historiografia que se dedicou aos estudos referentes a essa temática manteve seu foco em retratar a Colônia como pioneira no processo de cooperativismo no país, porém, ao longo desse trabalho, buscamos apresentar que esse modelo de colonização não ocorreu de forma isolada, pois fazia parte de um projeto de colonização defendida pelo governo Imperial e Provincial. Ainda dentro das engrenagens responsáveis pelo fluxo imigratório, o enfoque recai sobre a Lei de Terras (1850), que buscamos compreender até que ponto essa lei beneficiou os imigrantes ou os grandes latifundiários. Ao analisar as características da Colônia Thereza Christina, deparamos com a importância dos nacionais para o desenvolvimento deste núcleo, mesmo a historiografia apresentando os imigrantes franceses como os protagonistas

Abstract: The objective of this work is analyzes the political, cultural and economic aspects of the Thereza Christina-PR Colony between the years 1847-1875. For this, we use as study the policies of colonization adopted in the government. To support our purpose, we used as a source of information, reports from colony directors, the Presidencies of the Province of Paraná, the documents found in the City Hall of Guarapuava and also from the documents of the traveler Thomas Plantagenet Bigg-Wither, who was in the colony between the years from 1873 to 1875. In addition, we sought the newspapers of the time that spoke of the colony. In the most part, a historiography that dedicated itself to the studies on the theme of its process of attention in portraying a colony as a pioneer in the process of cooperativism in the country, however, throughout the work, we sought to present the model of colonization that did not occur in na isolated way, since part of a project of colonization defended by the Imperial and Provincial government. There in the gears measures by the immigrant currency, the focus falls on the Law of Land (1850) that we seek to understand to what extent this law has benefited immigrants or large landowners. In analyzing the characteristics of the Thereza Christina Colony, they find the importance of the results for the development of the nucleus, even a historiography representative of the French immigrants as the protagonists
