A mens rationalis no monologion de Anselmo de Cantuária

Abstract

Resumo: Anselmo de Cantuária elabora dialeticamente, no tratado Monologion, uma noção de criação do mundo idealizada por Deus a partir do nada (creatio ex nihilo). É reconhecido uma oposição ontológica dos modos de ser entre ser por si (per se) e ser por outro (per aliud), em outras palavras, criador eterno e criatura tempo-espacial. Os entes criados receberam de Deus a existência, e simultaneamente receberam também a imagem (imago) da substância suprema; somente a alma racional ou mente é imagem e semelhança (imago et similitudo). Assim, esta pesquisa procura investigar a alma ou mente (anima siue mens) e a relação dela com o ser eterno. Deus é expresso através da estrutura espiritual e absoluta da Trindade, uma vez que Ele é igual a si mesmo pela eternidade no recordar, entender e amar; o espírito humano é trindade por este modo de existir por semelhança a Deus, sendo igual a ela mesma enquanto criatura. A expressão da trindade psicológica ocorre pelas faculdades espirituais: memoria, intelligentia et uoluntas. A mens rationalis é espelho da Trindade. A inclinação reflexiva da mente-trindade para Deus-Trindade é necessária para adquirir a justiça, a liberdade e a beatitude (iustitia, libertas et beatitudo); porém, esta contemplação depende da interioridade da vontade. Investigaremos a intenção da vontade (intentio uoluntatis) estruturada nas operações espirituais do poder e querer (posse et uelle), que inclina-se pelo amor (amor, caritas, dilectio) para o superior ou para o inferior

Abstract: Anselm of Canterbury elaborates dialectically, in the treatise Monologion, a notion of creation of the world idealized by God from nothing (creatio ex nihilo). It is recognized an ontological opposition of ways of being between to be by itself (per se) and to be by another (per aliud), in other words, eternal creator and time-space creature. The created beings received from God the existence, and simultaneously they also received the image (imago) of the Supreme Substance, only the rational soul or mind is image and likeness (imago et similitudo). Thus, this research seeks to investigate the soul or mind (anima sive mens), and his relation to the eternal being. God is expressed through the spiritual and absolute structure of the Trinity; since He is equal to himself for eternity: remembering, understanding and loving; the human spirit is trinity by this way of existing in resemblance to God; being equal to himself as a creature. The expression of the psychological trinity occurs by the spiritual faculties: memoria, inteligentia et voluntas. The mens rationalis is a mirror of the Trinity. The reflective inclination of the mind-trinity to the God-Trinity is necessary to acquire justice, freedom and beatitude (iustitia, libertas et beatitudo); however, this contemplation depends on interiority of the Will. We will investigate the intention of the Will (intentio voluntatis) structured in spiritual operations of the power and want (posse et velle) who inclines to love (amor, caritas, dilectio) for the superior or the inferior
