Determinantes do empreendedorismo no Paraná

Abstract

RESUMO: O empreendedorismo é um importante aliado do crescimento econômico. Compreender suas características é essencial para a otimização de políticas públicas que têm como meta estimular o ambiente empreendedor de determinada região. O objetivo desse estudo é encontrar os determinantes do Índice de Empreendedorismo no Paraná para o ano de 2014. Primeiro, foi feita uma revisão de literatura de empreendedorismo e suas origens, principalmente em Schumpeter. Em seguida, uma revisão sobre seus determinantes. Foi utilizado o modelo econométrico espacial SAR para estimar os coeficientes das variáveis utilizadas. Os resultados ilustraram aglomerações espaciais com significância estatística. Os coeficientes do valor adicionado da indústria, comércio e serviços e educação foram positivos e significativos. O PIB per capita apresentou coeficiente negativo e significante. Os coeficientes do valor adicionado da agricultura, energia elétrica e emprego não foram significantes. O estudo recomenda que políticas que objetivem a geração de um ambiente empreendedor devem considerar não só a estrutura econômica de um município, mas sim da região em que está inserido

ABSTRACT: Entrepreneurship is an important ally of economic growth. Understanding its characteristics is essential to optimize public policies that aim to promote an entrepreneurial environment in a certain region. The goal of this study is finding the determinants of Entrepreneurship Index in Paraná for the year 2014. The first part is a review of entrepreneurial literature and its origins and then a review on its determinants. The SAR was used to calculate the variables' coefficient. The results of the study are used to illustrate a dispersion of variables in space. In the model, coefficients of value added industry, services, and education were significant and positive. The GDP per capita's coefficient was significant and negative. The coefficients of value added agriculture, energy and employment were not significant. This study recommends that policies which aim to create an entrepreneurial environment should consider not only the city's economic structure, but its region's as well
