Águas das (re)existências : lugar e memórias das balsas no rio Ivaí – Paraná

Abstract

RESUMO: As travessias por balsas foram um importante modal para o desenvolvimento econômico e social da Unidade Hídrica do rio Ivaí no Estado do Paraná, durante o século XX. De fato, este meio de transporte era a único sistema de logística, na ausência de estradas e pontes, para a transposição da produção agrícola, mercadorias e pessoas. A tese aqui defendida é a de que as balsas foram suplantadas em determinados pontos estratégicos para a defesa de interesses capitalistas, e, em outros pontos, este modal obsoleto, configura-se como o único meio de transporte, portanto, este se torna a conexão entre capitais, pessoas, memórias e lugares. A pesquisa pautou-se metodologicamente na revisão bibliográfica, análise de documentos e estudos de campo com aplicação de entrevistas e formulários. Logo, a participação deste modal de transporte possibilitou/a os fluxos de circulação de mercadorias e pessoas, sendo que nos dias atuais ocorrem de forma desigual nos segmentos da Unidade Hídrica do rio Ivaí. As análises realizadas permitiram inferir, que ainda persistem algumas balsas que ligam áreas pouco dinâmicas, que evidenciam a precariedade de condições de trabalho dos balseiros e o esquecimento por parte do poder público. As balsas que perpassam áreas de alto dinamismo econômico foram suplantadas por pontes, tendo em vista o intenso fluxo de capital e investimentos públicos de infraestrutura logística

ABESTRACT: Ferry crossings were an important modality for the economic and social development of the River Ivaí Water Unit in the State of Paraná, during the 20th century. In fact, this means of transport was the only logistics system, in the absence of roads and bridges, for the transposition of agricultural production, goods and people. The thesis defended here is that the ferries were supplanted in certain strategic points for the defense of capitalist interests, and, in other points, this obsolete modal, is configured as the only means of transport, which meets the social and economic displacements of peripheral municipalities of the Ivaí River Water Unit, therefore, it becomes the connection between capitals, people, memories and places. The research was methodologically based on bibliographic review, document analysis and field studies with the application of interviews and forms. It is argued that, the participation of this mode of transport has made possible the flow of circulation of goods and people, and these days they occur unevenly in the segments of the Water Unit of the Ivaí River. The analyzes carried out made it possible to infer that in the areas of peripheral and intermediate municipalities, there are still some ferries connecting poorly dynamic areas, which show the precarious working conditions of the ferry operators and the forgetfulness on the part of the government.
