A narrativa juvenil brasileira : entre temas e formas, o fantástico

Abstract

É recente o olhar da crítica sobre o fantástico no específico juvenil na literatura. Considerando que, de modo geral, a criação literária dirigida diretamente à juventude é um fenômeno que remonta à segunda metade do século XX, o fantástico passa a se destacar nas produções literárias juvenis a partir desse período e continua fortemente até então. O que importa é a forma de apresentar o fantástico aos jovens leitores. Desse modo, nosso objetivo neste estudo é mostrar, por meio de uma análise intrínseca das narrativas juvenis, como o fantástico se manifesta na estrutura das dez narrativas que compõem o corpus selecionado, como tem sido apresentado aos jovens leitores brasileiros desde a década de 1970 até a atualidade. Com apoio dos estudos de Lajolo e Zilberman (1984), Eric Hobsbawm (1995), Groppo (2000) e Obiols (2002), discutimos sobre a juventude na contemporaneidade, fundamental para a compreensão de como se configura o subsistema literário denominado juvenil. E, com embasamento no referencial teórico do fantástico (Vax, 1965; Todorov, 1970; Bessière, 1974; Finné, 1980; Furtado, 1980; Ceserani, 2006), procuramos, por meio da análise das obras escolhidas, esclarecer como o fantástico se manifesta na narrativa juvenil contemporânea brasileira. Partimos da análise em três tendências ou linhas temáticas da narrativa juvenil, a saber, linha histórica e social, linha intimista e psicológica e a linha de terror e mistério. Ao serem produzidas, levando em conta os leitores e o contexto sociocultural em que transitam, as narrativas juvenis possuem tanto marcas formais quanto temáticas diversificadas. Ao longo desse panorama estudado, verificamos a existência de elementos que diferenciam as obras no que se refere ao fantástico. E isso está muito relacionado ao momento histórico social de produção, circulação e recepção das obras, pois as narrativas, em cada período/década, aproveitam elementos do fantástico para questionar a realidade, formar leitores, criticar motivos fantásticos e atualizá-los

The critic approach about the fantastic in the juvenile literature is recent. The literary productions aimed directly at youth are a phenomenon that dates back to the second half of the twentieth century. From this period the fantastic in youth literary productions appears and continues strongly until then. What matters is how the fantastic is presented to young readers. In this way, we aim the systematized analysis of the constitution of this kind of production considering its specific public. In this thesis, we seek to understand how the fantastic is manifested in the ten juvenile narratives selected in the corpus, how it has been presented to the young Brazilian readers from the end of the decade of 1970 until the present time. The theoretical framework is composed by the studies about youth in the contemporary world, fundamental for understanding of how the so-called juvenile literary subsystem is formed (Lajolo and Zilberman, 1984; Eric Hobsbawm, 1995; Groppo, 2000; and Obiols, 2002). And the studies based on the theoretical reference of the fantastic (Vax, 1965, Todorov, 1970, Bessière, 1974, Finné, 1980, Furtado, 1980, Ceserani, 2006), that are discussed through the analysis of the ten narratives that compose the corpus. The analysis is divided in three trends or thematic lines of the juvenile narrative, namely, historical and social line, intimate and psychological line and terror and mystery line. When they are produced, taking into account the readers and the sociocultural context, the juvenile narratives have diverse forms and themes. Throughout this panorama studied, we verified the existence of elements that differentiate the narratives in what refers to the fantastic. And this is linked to the historical social moment of production, circulation and reception, because in the narratives, in each period/decade, the elements of the fantastic can question reality, form readers, criticize fantastic motives and actualize them
