Percepções dos acadêmicos do curso de Agronomia da UEM de Umuarama-PR sobre o uso de agrotóxicos

Abstract

RESUMO: Ao considerar que a biodiversidade corre o risco de ser afetada por negligência do comportamento humano ao utilizar excessivamente os agrotóxicos, presume-se que o agrônomo é um sujeito preponderante na construção de novos conceitos, valores, e análise crítica. Dessa forma, deve-se destacar a importância da sua formação, tornando possível um novo paradigma, onde possa contribuir com projetos de ação para sociedade, para o meio ambiente e para a economia. Para tanto, faz-se necessário identificar e relacionar as diferentes concepções sobre o uso de agrotóxicos. O estudo foi realizado com alunos do 1o e 5o anos do curso de Agronomia da Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM), Campus Umuarama - PR, sob investigação do perfil socioeconômico, a produção de alimentos sem uso dos agrotóxicos, as doenças relacionadas e a influência da Universidade em torno da temática. A coleta de dados, deu-se através de questionário semiestruturado. A pesquisa evidenciou a influência da academia, nos conceitos dos alunos, uma vez que influenciou nas percepções dos alunos não havendo neutralidade na linguagem durante a formação acadêmica. Contudo, pelas informações adquiridas neste estudo observou falta conhecimentos por parte de alguns alunos sobre o uso de agrotóxicos, tornando essa percepção fundamental no contexto sustentável, pois estão egressando da Universidade com uma visão simplista e acomodada.

ABSTRACT: When considering that biodiversity is at risk of being affected by negligence of human behavior when using pesticides excessively, it is assumed that the agronomist is a preponderant subject in the construction of new concepts, values, and critical analysis. Thus, it is important to highlight the importance of their training, making possible a new paradigm, where they can contribute with action projects for society, for the environment and for the economy. Therefore, it is necessary to identify and relate the different conceptions about the use of pesticides. The study was carried out with students from the 1st and 5th years of the Agronomy course at the State University of Maringá (UEM), Campus Umuarama-PR, under investigation of the socioeconomic profile, the production of food without the use of pesticides, the relations to diseases and the influence of the University around the use of pesticides. Data collection took place through a semi-structured questionnaire. The research aimed to corroborate with a survey of the concepts of students in the use of these substances, including the risks that the use of this product causes to health and the environment. It also showed the influence, somewhat negative, of the academy on the concepts of the students. Since it influenced the perceptions of the students with no neutrality in the language during the academic formation. However, from the information acquired in this study, it is concluded that some there is a lack of knowledge by some student about the use of pesticides, making this perception fundamental in a sustainable context, as they are leaving the University with a simplistic and accommodated view.
