O abuso sexual cometido por padres agressores como acontecimento no relatório CIASE : embates entre relações de poder e vontade de verdade

Abstract

Resumo: Esta dissertação apresenta como objeto de investigação o relatório francês da Comissão Independente sobre Abusos Sexuais na França (CIASE) que, em 2021, investigou abusos sexuais cometidos por clérigos católicos. No ano de 2019, vários relatórios independentes sobre o tema começaram a ser publicados, baseados em inquéritos instaurados pela Igreja Católica, e testemunhos das vítimas começaram a circular legalmente. A questão de pesquisa que nos instiga a fazer este estudo é: como se produz o embate entre vontades de verdade sobre os casos de abuso sexual, cometidos por padres abusadores, no Relatório CIASE? Tal questionamento conduziu a pesquisa, pois essa temática vai além da linguagem como produto, estendendo-se à constituição dos discursos e sua enunciação em outros campos, ligando o dito ao não dito. O material discursivo para esta dissertação foi constituído por um corpus de análise organizado por meio de 53 recortes, denominados de sequências enunciativas, doravante (SE), retiradas de uma tradução para o português do relatório CIASE. Dessa forma, o presente trabalho tomou o discurso científico e religioso, mediante o conceito de rizoma (Deluze; Guattari, 1995) para entrada no corpus de análise e analisar as relações de poder envolvendo o que é considerado verdadeiro sobre o abuso sexual na igreja, presente nesse material de investigação. Calcada em noções da linha pesquisa conhecida como estudos discursivos foucaultianos, o objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar as lutas discursivas envolvendo o que é considerado verdadeiro sobre o abuso sexual na Igreja e como essas verdades são estabelecidas, contestadas e mantidas, tanto pela ciência quanto pela religião no referido relatório. Os objetivos específicos, com vistas a ordenar as ações a serem tomadas nesta pesquisa, são: analisar as formas de relação que podem ser descritas entre diferentes séries enunciativas, a partir do jogo de correlações e/ou de dominações entre elas no Relatório CIASE; investigar as condições de possibilidade de emergência dos acontecimentos que fizeram irromper a violência sexual na Igreja, segundo o Relatório CIASE; e discutir como o relatório CIASE constrói o discurso sobre abuso sexual que constitui a vontade de verdade. Exploramos como o poder funciona e como a vontade de verdade define o que é aceitável falar e o que determina os discursos. Concluímos que o Relatório CIASE não apenas documenta casos de abuso, mas também participa, ativamente, na formação de discursos que contribuem para a compreensão da verdade, do poder e da violência sexual na Igreja Católica. O documento representa um ponto de inflexão no discurso sobre o abuso sexual, evidenciando uma complexa rede de verdades que são, ao mesmo tempo, construídas e expostas.

Abstract: This dissertation examines the French report by the Independent Commission on Sexual Abuse in France (CIASE), which investigated sexual abuse committed by Catholic clergy in 2021. Starting in 2019, several independent reports on the topic began to be published, based on investigations initiated by the Catholic Church, and testimonies from victims started to circulate legally. The research question driving this study is: how is the conflict between different wills to truth regarding cases of sexual abuse committed by abusive priests produced in the CIASE Report? This inquiry guided the research, as this theme goes beyond language as a product, extending to the constitution of discourses and their enunciation in other fields, linking the said to the unsaid. The discursive material for this dissertation was constituted by an analytical corpus organized through excerpts, referred to as enunciative sequences (SE), extracted from the CIASE report. Thus, this work employed the scientific and religious discourse, through the concept of the rhizome (Deleuze and Guattari, 2000), to enter the analytical corpus and examine the power relations involving what is considered true about sexual abuse in the Church, as present in this investigative material. Grounded in notions from the line of research known as Foucauldian discourse studies, the objective of this research is to analyze the discursive struggles involving what is considered true about sexual abuse in the Church and how these truths are established, contested, and maintained by both science and religion in the aforementioned report. The specific objectives, aiming to organize the actions to be taken in this research, are: to analyze the forms of relationship that can be described between different enunciative series, based on the play of correlations and/or dominations among them in the CIASE Report; to investigate the conditions of possibility for the emergence of events that led to the eruption of sexual violence in the Church, according to the CIASE Report; and to discuss how the CIASE report constructs the discourse on sexual abuse that constitutes the will to truth. We explore how power operates and how the will to truth defines what is acceptable to speak and what determines the discourses. We conclude that the CIASE Report not only documents cases of abuse but also actively participates in the formation of discourses that contribute to the understanding of truth, power, and sexual violence in the Catholic Church. The document represents a turning point in the discourse on sexual abuse, revealing a complex network of truths that are simultaneously exposed and constructed.
