As representações sociais de alunos de licenciatura em física sobre quântica

Abstract

RESUMO: Considerando que há, atualmente, uma apropriação indevida do termo quântica atrelado à oferta de produtos que prometem curas milagrosas e uma vida mais próspera, surge a necessidade de discutir a origem deste termo, com base em um viés científico, de modo a evitar que os sujeitos se deixem enganar por pseudociências. Neste sentido, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo investigar as Representações Sociais de alunos ingressantes e concluintes de um curso de Licenciatura em Física, em uma universidade pública no noroeste do Paraná, a respeito do termo indutor "quântica". Uma vez que os alunos da licenciatura estarão futuramente à frente das salas de aula e serão os responsáveis por lecionar conteúdos de Física Quântica, procuramos identificar quais são as noções que os alunos que ingressam e que concluem o curso de Licenciatura em Física têm a respeito do tema. Portanto, nos amparamos na Teoria das Representações Sociais para responder a seguinte questão: Quais são as possíveis Representações Sociais que futuros professores de Física possuem quanto ao termo "quântica" e até que ponto a formação inicial pode ser influenciadora no processo de (re)construção dessas representações? A metodologia utilizada neste trabalho é de natureza mista, tendo por base a teoria do núcleo central. A coleta dos dados se deu a partir da aplicação de um questionário com os participantes e a técnica utilizada foi a Evocação Livre de Palavras, onde eles tiveram que escrever as cinco primeiras palavras que vieram à sua mente quando pensaram no termo indutor quântica, além de redigirem um pequeno texto que justificasse a escolha das palavras. Para a análise dos dados, utilizou-se o diagrama de Vergès, junto à análise de similitude, a fim de identificar o provável núcleo das Representações. Os resultados indicam que, enquanto os alunos ingressantes associam o termo quântica à Física, mas não conseguem formular uma explicação científica e estruturada sobre o termo; os alunos concluintes possuem representações influenciadas pelo conhecimento científico. Diante disso, conclui-se que houve uma possível mudança nas representações dos sujeitos e que essa mudança está relacionada com as influências do processo de formação, que permitiu aos alunos concluintes terem acesso a discussões e aprendizagens referentes à Física Quântica, por meio da disciplina de Física Moderna.

ABSTRACT: Considering that there is currently a misappropriation of the term quantum linked to the offer of products that promise miraculous cures and a more prosperous life, there is a growing need to discuss the origin of this term, based on a scientific bias, in order to prevent people from being fooled by pseudoscience. The aim of this study is to investigate the social representations of students entering and graduating from a physics degree course at a public university in north-western Paraná regarding the inductive term "quantum". Since undergraduate students will be in charge of classrooms in the future and will be responsible for teaching quantum physics content, we sought to identify the notions that students entering and graduating from a physics degree course have about the subject. We therefore used the Theory of Social Representations to answer the following question: What are the possible Social Representations that future Physics teachers have about the term "quantum" and to what extent can initial training influence the process of (re)constructing these representations? The methodology used in this study is of a mixed nature, based on the central core theory. Data was collected by administering a questionnaire to the participants and the technique used was Free Word Evocation, in which they had to write down the first five words that came to mind when they thought of the term quantum inductor, as well as writing a short text justifying their choice of words. The Vergès diagram was used to analyze the data, along with similarity analysis, in order to identify the probable core of the representations. The results indicate that, while incoming students associate the term quantum with physics, but are unable to formulate a structured scientific explanation of the term, outgoing students have representations influenced by scientific knowledge. Therefore, it can be concluded that there has been a possible change in the subjects' representations and that this change is related to the influences of the training process, which allowed the graduating students to have access to discussions and learning about Quantum Physics, through the subject of Modern Physics.
