Os usos e as funções da música na Albert Sabin : uma escola especializada em paralisia cerebral

Abstract

RESUMO: Este texto de dissertação de mestrado apresenta uma pesquisa que tem como finalidade compreender os usos e as funções da música dentro de uma instituição especializada em Paralisia Cerebral (PC) e múltiplas deficiências. Como objetivos específicos, delineei: conhecer a equipe pedagógica, no que tange à formação e ao desenvolvimento do trabalho com música na instituição; conhecer os diferentes momentos e formas como a música se faz presente dentro da instituição; e verificar quais são os recursos materiais usados nas ações musicais na escola e como se dão suas escolhas. A instituição é a Escola Albert Sabin, localizada em Maringá, no Paraná, que atende a alunos desde recém-nascidos até a melhor idade, em variados níveis de comprometimento físico, neuromotor e cognitivo. O interesse por este campo de estudo está vinculado às minhas experiências docentes na instituição em pauta, nos anos de 2020 e 2021, e na importância que a música apresenta neste contexto. No campo da Educação Musical Especial, embora haja um crescimento de produções, ainda são tímidas as pesquisas que envolvem pessoas com PC. Ao fazer uma revisão de literatura nos Anais da Associação Brasileira de Educação Musical (ABEM) e da Associação Nacional de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação em Música (ANPPOM), considerando o período de 2016 a 2022, como também na Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD), encontrei poucos textos que tratam esta temática, especificamente. Na revisão bibliográfica acerca dos usos e funções da música na educação básica, trago autores que se destacam, como Hummes (2004) e Souza et. al (2002). Os dados da pesquisa foram analisados à luz de autores que discutem os usos e funções da música na sociedade. A proposta metodológica toma como referência a abordagem qualitativa, por meio do estudo de caso. As técnicas de coleta de dados foram entrevistas com os profissionais envolvidos, como também a realização de observações participantes nas aulas e atividades musicais da escola. A partir da categorização dos dados, foram elencadas quatro funções da música na Instituição: Comunicação e Interação Social; Expressão Emocional; Apoio/recurso pedagógico ao desenvolvimento global; e Autorregulação e foco dos alunos. Como considerações finais da pesquisa (re)afirmo o quanto a música está presente nas ações desenvolvidas na escola, tanto nos momentos em sala de aula como nos momentos extraclasse, contribuindo principalmente com a formação global dos alunos. Este estudo visa contribuir com as discussões, reflexões e ações músico-pedagógicas no campo da Educação Musical Especial.

ABSTRACT: This master's dissertation text presents research that aims to understand the uses and functions of music within an institution specialized in Cerebral Palsy (CP) and multiple disabilities. As specific objectives, I outlined: getting to know the pedagogical team, regarding the training and development of work with music in the institution; get to know the different moments and ways in which music is present within the institution; and, to verify which are the material resources used in musical actions at school and how their choices are made. The institution is the Albert Sabin School, located in Maringá, Paraná, which serves students from newborns to seniors, with varying levels of physical, neuromotor and cognitive impairment. The interest in this field of study is linked to my teaching experiences at the institution in question, in the years 2020 and 2021, and the importance that music has in this context. In the field of Special Music Education, although there is an increase in production, research involving people with CP is still limited. By reviewing the literature in the Annals of the Brazilian Association of Musical Education (ABEM) and the National Association for Research and Graduate Studies in Music (ANPPOM), from 2016 to 2022, as well as in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), I found few texts that deal with this theme specifically. In the bibliographic review about the uses and functions of music in basic education, I bring authors that stand out as Hummes (2004), Souza et. al (2002). The research data were analyzed in the light of authors who discuss the uses and functions of music in society. The methodological proposal takes the qualitative approach as a reference, through the case study. The data collection techniques were interviews with the professionals involved, as well as the realization of participant observations in the classes and musical activities of the school. From the categorization of data, four functions of music in the Institution were listed: Communication and Social Interaction; Emotional Expression; Support/pedagogical resource for global development; and Selfregulation and student focus. As final considerations of the research, I (re)affirm the extent to which music is present in the actions developed at school, both in the classroom and in extra-class moments, contributing mainly to the global formation of the students. This study aims to contribute to discussions, reflections and musical-pedagogical actions in the field of Special Music Education.
